Idaho La Leche League Information

The following is a message from one of the local La Leche League chapters. They are a tremendously helpful resource.  We encourage you to check out one of their meetings.  If this chapter is not in your area, you can check online for one closer to you.

We appreciate that you see LLL as able to support and empower mothers coming into their own confidence and mothering esteem.

So, La Leche League is beginning a new focus this spring. Our monthly meetings at Mother’s Haven will be broadening to Mothering Classes rather than just breastfeeding support (think Mothering Magazine as a local class). Mother’s Haven has weekly breastfeeding support meetings, and we will still discuss whatever aspects of breastfeeding mothers are interested in, so we feel the support to breastfeed is there.

Our time and location will remain the same, 2nd Thursday of each month, 10:30am-12:00noon (which means our next meeting is next week, Thursday, April 8).

Class topics will include: gentle discipline methods that work, nighttime parenting, breastfeeding, weaning, improving your family’s diet, potty-mastery, adjusting to being a new mother, family/siblings adjusting to new baby, raising your spirited child, siblings without rivalry, being an advocate for your child, handling unsolicited advice, green housecleaning, etc.

Classes are helpful and appropriate for pregnant women, mothers with new babies, and mothers with toddlers and preschoolers, and the classes are free.
And, as always, if women have a breastfeeding concern or need help, they can call Jennifer at (208)777-9679.

LLL offers free breastfeeding support (we know many can’t afford much) and please keep the mothering classes in mind.
