Workshop Sessions:
April 23 – 6-9pm Mommy Diagnostics, The Art of Family Health Care: Mothers are family healthcare practitioners. This workshop equips mom with the tools needed for her work of loving and caring for her family’s healthcare needs. Methods of evaluating family health will be taught alongside nutritional medicine intervention – how to make food your family’s best preventive medicine. Conditions often encountered by families from infancy to the gray-haired years will be discussed with an eye to identifying physiologic, nutritional, and herbal therapies most likely to work effectively.
April 24 – 9-12 noon Naturally Healthy Pregnancy, Herbs for Pregnancy, Labor and Birth: Investigate which herbs to consider for nutritional and herbal medicine during pregnancy, with specific attention paid to understanding contraindications and side effects; finding reliable herbal medicine information; and toxicity concerns for mom and baby. Learn to evaluate family and/or clients and design health support protocols for health concerns that may arise during pregnancy.
April 24 – 1-3 pm Informed WomanCare- Hormonal Messages & Herbs to Help: Naturally Healthy WomanCare will explain the normative menstrual cycle of women and demonstrate how alterations to hormonal balance reflects discomforts and/or disease. Standard conventional medical treatments will be discussed along with lifestyle, dietary, and herbal medicine interventions with comparisions given where appropriate in effectiveness. The focus will be on an integrated, “ladder approach” to well woman care designed to encourage informed and active consumer choice in healthcare.
April 24 – 3-5 pm Real Foods for Real Health – Making a Difference in Your Health for Life: Most of us avoid a close look at our dietary habits, fearing we may have to make some change. The downside to our blind eye is we may have to continue living with the impact of nutritional deficiencies, which can be life-altering. We will evaluate dietary records to determine what foods and drink need to be increased, decreased, or eliminated to lay a dietary foundation of health and make our diet the primary place to supplement vitamins and minerals. Particular attention will be paid to how to eat real for a whole life.
